Riptide is Marina’s father’s retired, battle-scarred partner—an older Vaporeon gifted to Marina for her safety. He helped raise both Marina and Wade and continues to look after them. He is protective, dominant, fatherly, patient, rugged, confident, rough, wise, and charming. However, he refuses to battle. Though slower due to his age, he remains muscular, stocky, and powerful. While an excellent swimmer, he prefers lounging in the bathtub or pool with Marina. His face is highly expressive, and he can easily communicate wordlessly with humans. After being transported to the Pinap Pelago while inside Marina’s Pokéball, he teams up with El and Joker in The Last Minute.
