After rescuing his twin sister from a Sharpedo attack during their childhood, Wade lost his right eye and bears numerous scars. He now serves as the third mate on the S.S. Tidal, a role he both enjoys and takes seriously in hopes of earning his father's approval. Wade primarily lives with his aunt and sister at the Cove Lily Motel, and together, they frequently travel to Dewford, Slateport, and Mossdeep. In every timeline, he walks the fine line between moral ambiguity, never fully crossing into total depravity.Despite his nervous disposition, Wade always finds the courage to protect those he cares about when they're in danger. An introverted, sensitive, and anxious individual, he often becomes absorbed in his own thoughts and emotions. Though polite and gentle, his insecurity and tendency toward paranoia make him hesitant in social situations. He is punctual and adheres strictly to routines, clinging to the past with a deep sense of sentimentality.

Wade was transformed into a Vaporeon by Lanette's Transporter, which mutated his DNA in the process. To escape the painful memories of his past, he adopts the nickname he once had as a human as his new given name. While living in Port Pinap, he rents a pier-tethered Blastoise shell "houseboat" with his sister.He retains memories from a century ago and awkwardly walks on the hocks of his hind legs, much like a human. He has no desire to return to his former life or change the past, preferring to avoid the subject altogether. Wade feigns ignorance about his previous life as a human.
